The Boat.
TEMPEST - 2003 Sailfish.
Our vessel has a length of 8.22m-28ft (Beam -9'8" & Draft 3'6"), twin hull design manufactured by Sailfish Catamarans Pty Ltd in Alstonville on New South Wales' north coast. The hull is constructed from 6mm aluminium and the hard cabin/top side from 4mm. The hull is foam filled making it virtually unsinkable. The entire rear deck is covered by a full length awning providing protection from all the elements whether the harsh sun, wind or rain.
Tempest is licensed to carry 14 people (including crew) and is in New South Wales 2C survey.
Tempest's Powerhouse
TEMPEST is powered by twin 'Steyr' 246hp turbo diesel engines driving shafts through Volvo Penta gearboxes. Driven from either of the two steering stations, the engines are not only fast (16-18 knot cruise / 25-28 knot top speed) and very economical but provides added safety having two motors, ensuring you get home. TEMPEST has twin 250 litre fuel tanks enabling her to travel approximately 180 mile range at cruise.
Comfort.
Comfort is what our customers endure. The full length rear awning covers the padded twin bench seats ensuring you are protected from the elements whilst travelling to and whilst fishing at one of our favourite locations.
Forward we also have a double mattress/bed for those needing a little rest and recovery.
The fish box is the only thing we crowd.
On board toilet facility
Tempest is fitted with all the comforts of home including a flush toilet systen with holding tank.
